    CVP is seeking a highly talented Security SME to navigate CVP through the broader cybersecurity landscape and to identify, recommend and in many cases implement new tools, processes, and techniques to improve our clients' security postures.

    Major Areas of Responsibility
     
    • Develop and implement information security solutions for clients
    • Guide internal teams towards delivering best information security products and solutions


    Position Requirements
     
    • 10+ years of experience architecting and implementing information security controls within government or within a regulated industry
    • Broad understanding of all domains of information security
    • Hands-on, technical mastery in one or more of the following domains:
      • network/perimeter security
      • application security
      • endpoint/infrastructure security
      • red team/penetration testing
      • network security monitoring,
      • binary reverse engineering
      • digital forensics/incident response and/or
      • cryptography
    • Proficient at analyzing a packet capture, or equivalent understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack
    • Understanding of how attacks succeed against applications, common vulnerabilities and mitigations
    • Conversant in the functions of a security operations center, and familiar with state-of-the-art tools and techniques
    • Very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • Very good verbal and written English communication skills
    • Can independently research a topic in information security and prepare and deliver an executive brief or short presentation demonstrating understanding of that topic


    Desired Skills
     
    • Mastery of UNIX shell scripting or Windows PowerShell, preferably both
    • Experience using a distributed revision control system, preferably git
    • Hands-on experience within a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure, including understanding of the general concepts of how infrastructure-as-a-service solutions work, how resources are provisioned, and security concerns around same
    • Can conduct searches through logs, both in Splunk and via CLI tools, such as grep, Select-String, or equivalent,  involving reasonably complex Regular Expressions
    • Capable of maintaining their own toolset, either in Linux or Windows
    • Demonstrable ability to write and understand source code of small tools or functions useful in an Information security practice, in at least one modern programming language
