Technical Writer Lead

    CVP is seeking a highly talented Technical Writer Lead to lead quality and tech writing tasks for our federal healthcare team. The professional in this role will lead a team of 1-2 Tech Writers to ensure that quality is baked into the program deliverables, messages are communicated well, and the team executes timely and successfully.

    Major Areas of Responsibility
    • Create and maintain quality process and enforce them within the program
    • Lead the tech writing team – plan work, task team, perform reviews, ensure technical writing assignments are completed on time, and perform continuous improvements
    • Collaborate with other team areas to ensure quality processes are integrated and quality dates are met
    • Write and/or edit technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements
    • Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations
    • Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables
    • Consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables

    Position Requirements
    • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance
    • 3-7 years of experience in a Technical Writer role
    • 3 years of experience as a Lead in a Technical Writer role
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Passion for writing, and excellent technical editing skills
    • Strong expertise in MS Word
    • Strong collaborative skills, initiative and attention to detail
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
