    CVP is seeking a highly talented Database Lead to provide guidance for IT operations planning, design, implementation, and integration of all infrastructure, hardware systems, and software under AMRDEC. Serve as a Technical Task Lead for the configuration and configuration management portion of the program, which provides diverse support for AMRDEC network infrastructure devices.

    Major Areas of Responsibility
    • Lead a team of individuals supporting database management and support for AMRDEC information and related systems; provide daily supervision and direction to support staff
    • Provide database development, administration, and support for both COTS/GOTS database applications and systems, including software and hardware both for the database itself and for database clients and supporting systems
    • Provide database application programming design, development, testing, sustainment, maintenance, and support for custom GOTS database programs
    • Support users, software developers, and database-driven software applications to ensure availability, security, and integrity of data access across development, staging, preproduction, production, and training environments
    • Provide hardware and software support for database administration and maintenance for hosted database applications
    • Perform analysis, design, implementation, optimization, sustainment and retirement, and shall assist database administrators and developers from AMRDEC and other organizations with the integration of database systems and the transmission and reception of data
    • Control connections and access to the database, including user accounts, service accounts, and privileges
    • Secure the AMRDEC database systems and database connections according to the sensitivity of the data processed and as required by the data owners; make recommendations regarding the overall system security
    • Maintain database SOPs and documentation
    • Monitor and report database metrics for performance tuning and decision-making purposes
    • Provide mission support solutions to ensure the continued interoperability and maintenance of a variety of databases, including ensuring necessary coordination with organizations outside of AMRDEC that may require access and/or interoperability with identified databases

    Position Requirements
    • Must be eligible to obtain an Active Secret government Security Clearance
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 8 years of experience leading database administration, development, management, and support functions for a team, including experience on large IT operations projects involving multiple complex and inter-related project tasks
    • Experience in application programming on large-scale DBMS
    • Experience in the following database environments: Oracle (Including WebLogic and Advanced Security Suites, Diagnostic and Tuning Packs, and Lifecycle Management Pack) and Microsoft SQL
    • Experience in managing, developing, collecting, and maintaining formal Army and DoD network configuration and Information Assurance (IA) documentation
    • Experience with the DoD RMF processes and DoD IA requirements
    • Well-versed in the latest technologies

    Desired Skills
    • AMRDEC experience – knowledge of AMRDEC information systems and related IT, business operations, technical operations, and risk management
    • Army experience in a Database Lead role
    • Familiarity with automation, data/telecommunications, visual information, programming support, audio/visual, database management and support, data input/output devices, surge/Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) devices, computers, servers, cloud services/virtualization, networks, and communication devices
    • Some technical knowledge to support oversight of the following tasks: network management, system management, software and systems development, software and hardware configuration management, software application management, software testing and systems interoperability and support, virtual system management, hardware systems interoperability and support, VOIP and Audio Visual infrastructure systems, database administration, data storage/control/retention, disaster recovery and critical infrastructure continuity and contingency planning, cyber security, risk management and information assurance
