Configuration Lead

    CVP is seeking a highly talented Configuration Lead to provide guidance for IT operations planning, design, implementation, and integration of all infrastructure, hardware systems, and software under AMRDEC. Serve as a Technical Task Lead for the configuration and configuration management portion of the program, which provides diverse support for AMRDEC network infrastructure devices.

    Major Areas of Responsibility
    • Lead a team of individuals supporting configuration of all AMRDEC information and related systems: data input/output devices, surge/Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) devices, computers, servers, cloud services/virtualization, networks, communication devices and other peripheral entities that provide mission support to the organization as it pertains to IT services
    • Perform and support configuration management activities for information systems hardware and software; develop and maintain an AMRULI baseline image IAW the latest release Secure Host Baseline (SHB) and instructions on how to reproduce that image; all configuration management activities shall be performed using automated tools approved and provided by the Government
    • Determine architecture for configuration of network infrastructure components and devices to include switches, routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), security appliances, web proxies, reverse proxies and Network Access Control (NAC) appliances, virtual private network (VPN) concentrators, surge/UPS backup and power conditioning devices, head-end equipment for external network connectivity, and the network servers that control and configure these devices
    • Responsible for the configuration of the following AMRDEC IT assets:
      • Infrastructure for audio, voice, and visual communications systems to include the VOIP telephone system, VOIP endpoints, and Video Teleconference (VTC) systems. This includes the AMRDEC VBrick System, Digital Signage installation and management, Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) security systems, and telecommunications equipment
      • Physical security systems (to include the associated infrastructure) used to control and monitor facility security systems including security cameras, access control card readers, automated gate control systems, intercoms, automated door locks, alarms, the computer systems that control these devices, the storage devices that retain security data, and the wiring used by the security system
      • Environmental monitoring systems used to monitor IT facility environmental conditions
      • IT infrastructure power systems, UPS systems and generators to extend the operating time of critical IT systems during power failures
      • Virtual Machine (VM) servers, create virtual desktops, and create VM views
      • Mass data storage systems (including backup and archival systems) and permissions as required to restrict access to authorized groups, systems, and individuals
    • Document any changes to current configurations to ensure up to date configuration management documentation, in compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and DISA standards to support RMF accreditation activities
    • Provide specialized Project IT support to projects that use uncommon or non-standard hardware and software or unique configurations, to include tactical systems, legacy systems, and laboratory test equipment

    Position Requirements
    • Must be eligible to obtain an Active Secret government Security Clearance
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 8 years of experience leading configuration management functions for a team, including experience on large IT operations projects involving multiple complex and inter-related project tasks
    • Experience and knowledge of the following configuration management and update environments: Microsoft Active Directory, RedHat Network Satellite and Directory Servers, Microsoft SCCM, Puppet (Linux), Casper (Apple), Dell BIOS management, Cisco Prime, Microsoft WSUS, VCenter (VMWare), Teradici Management Console, and Microsoft AppLocker
    • Experience with unique hardware configurations and support strategies, configuration control methodologies and unique solutions to ensure operation consistent with mission requirements
    • Experience in managing, developing, collecting, and maintaining formal Army and DoD network configuration and Information Assurance (IA) documentation
    • Experience in the configuration management of physical security systems, environmental monitoring systems, IT infrastructure power systems, virtual machine servers and other virtual systems, and mass data storage systems
    • Experience with the DoD RMF processes and DoD IA requirements
    • Well-versed in the latest technologies

    Desired Skills
    • AMRDEC experience – knowledge of AMRDEC information systems and related IT, business operations, technical operations, and risk management
    • Army experience in a Configuration Lead role
    • Familiarity with automation, data/telecommunications, visual information, programming support, audio/visual, database management and support, data input/output devices, surge/Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) devices, computers, servers, cloud services/virtualization, networks, and communication devices
    • Some technical knowledge to support oversight of the following tasks: network management, system management, software application development and management, software testing and systems interoperability and support, virtual system management, hardware systems interoperability and support, VOIP and Audio Visual infrastructure systems, database administration, data storage/control/retention, disaster recovery and critical infrastructure continuity and contingency planning, cyber security, risk management and information assurance
