Business Capture Leader - National Security

    The Business Capture Leader will contribute to National Security market growth strategy development and account planning and will execute activities to identify, qualify, and capture new contracts to drive growth across the portfolio with a primary focus on Department of State (DOS, and Department of Defense (DOD).

    The Business Capture Leader will play a material role to lead business development and capture activities for National Security opportunities and will perform as the Capture Manager who is accountable for assigned pursuits. The Business Capture Leader will proactively develop and nurture relationships with key National Security customers, stakeholders and influencers, and with other industry professionals within the National Security contractor community. 

    We are looking for a seasoned, entrepreneurially- oriented growth and capture leader who is single-minded in his/her determination to identify, qualify, and close contracts to achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.

    The successful candidate for this role will have a verifiable track record in building a multi-year pipeline of qualified opportunities and performing as Capture Manager to win competitive contract opportunities with individual contract values exceeding $50M. The professional in this role will also have: subject matter experience with relevant IT and professional services offerings and solutions, deep domain expertise and insight regarding National Security mission areas and issues, and strong relationships with client decision makers /influencers, and with key leaders with other companies doing business in the National Security market.

    The Business Capture Leader will report to CVP’s Vice President for Federal Solutions and will work collaboratively with other members of the National Security market team and with CVP’s Corporate Growth and Service Delivery teams.

    Major Areas of Responsibility
     
    • Contribute to development of a multi-year growth strategy with a focus on the National Security marketplace with a primary focus on DOS and DOD
    • Identify and qualify a rolling 24 month pipeline of winnable opportunities to drive CVP’s near term and long term growth objectives
    • Lead capture teams as the accountable Capture Manager to develop and execute capture strategies and associated activities to win competitive contract opportunities
    • Establish and build CVP’s presence and relationships within target market to position CVP to win new contracts and secure contract renewals
    • Contribute to the development of marketing initiatives, customer campaigns, new offerings and services to address client requirements and close new business
    • Contribute thought leadership and business domain subject matter expertise to help develop IT and business solutions to address mission needs in areas such as Agile Systems Integration and Development, Big Data and Analytics, Digital and Mobility solutions, Cybersecurity, Performance Management and Transformation, and next generation Enterprise Architecture
    • Play an active role in industry groups like AFCEA, AFFIRM, PSC and continue to expand CVP’s brand in the government IT community


    Requirements
     
    • Competency and proficiency with structured business development, capture, and proposal processes and disciplines
    • Verifiable record of success in achieving annual sales targets and winning competitive IT/Professional Services contracts with contract values exceeding $50M, while performing in Capture Manager role
    • Direct experience building and executing a rolling 24 month pipeline of qualified opportunities for Agile Systems Integration and Development, Big Data and Analytics, Digital and Mobility solutions, Cybersecurity, Performance Management and Transformation, and next generation Enterprise Architecture
    • Domain experience with National Security mission areas and environment with understanding and insight of related client challenges and issues
    • Strong relationships with client decision makers and influencers within DOS or DOD
    • Strong reputation and relationships within community of Federal IT and professional services community doing business in National Security market
    • Ability to work in small teams and without “large-company” infrastructure
    • Agile and practical approach to problem solving
    • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition life-cycle and associated regulations
    • Ability to make sound business decisions and use appropriate judgment
    • Self-initiator with ability to work independently
    • Strong relationship building and verbal/written communication skills
